S.S Rajan Trophy
Senior Inter Districts Tournament
On 21.01.2013, in the S.S Rajan Trophy Seniors’ Inter district tournament conducted by TNCA played at Trichy, Trichy DCA beat Sivagangai DCA by 236 runs.
In the knock out matches, Trichy played against Sivagangai, Villupuram played against Theni, and Nilgiris played against Perambalur DCA. Thiruvallur DCA had a bye and scheduled to play against the winner of Villupuram – Theni match.

At Bishop Heber College, Putthur, Trichy, Trichy DCA played against Sivagangai DCA. After won the toss Trichy elected to bat and scored 311/7 in 50 Overs with useful contributions from its batsmen.
Wicket-keeper cum opener A. Praveen Kumar scored 70 runs while his partner G. Rajesh scored 29.

J. Harikrishnan in the middle scored a quickfire 73 well supported by Elanchezhian and R. Nishant who scored 28 & 30* respectively.

A captain’s innings could not be forgotten as Trichy Skipper A. Salim scored 36 runs and scalped 3 wickets for 13 runs with his off spin and two important catches.
For Sivagangai DCA, it was K. Anok Raju and Prabakaran bowled efficiently and took 4 wickets and 2 wickets respectively.

A shock was actually awaiting for Sivagangai DCA until Mohamed Taufiq comes into bowl. The Left arm pacer at his very first over took two wickets in the first two balls. He finished his spell of 5 overs with 3 maidens, 3 runs and 4 wickets.

NILGIRIS D.C.A 154 in 34.3 overs V.P.Subash 33, C.Mohan 32, I.Abbas 27,E.Kennady three for 15, R.Arunprasath three for 36,lost to PREAMBALUR D.C.A 155 for seven in 39.5 overs R.Vasudevan 45,N.Kalaiarasan 30 I.Abbas four for 29.
