Umpires - Velmurugan and Sabarinathan

Story Highlights

  • DCAT 2nd Division match played at TEA

Welcome to My Match Report – 22.06.2014!

Let us have a look at the match played at Tea Public School, Anaipudur.

This week I’ve umpired the DCAT Second Division Cricket League match played at TEA Public School Ground in Tirupur. The match was played between Gio Sports Club ‘A’ and Lakshmi Mills Colony Cricket Club, Palladam.

Recap: Gio Sports Club ‘A’ had played their Play off matches last year (2013-14) for Promotion and lost against Maruthi Cricket Club while Lakshmi Mills Colony CC survived their stand by playing Playing Off matches for relegation and topped their competitors

Both the teams looked like being ready to start their season on a positive note. Have a look at them!

I’m glad to introduce the Captains of both the teams

Mr. Balakrishnan of Lakshmi Mills CCC and Mr. Bhupinder Madaan of Gio Sports Club ‘A’

The toss won by Gio Sports Club ‘A’ and undoubtfully chosen to bat first. The game was a steady start for Gio Sports Club ‘A’ and dangerously dead for us. Make a note: Dead.

It was felt due to the bowling attack which seemed to show the aggression null. The start for the Lakshmi Mills was not actually pleasant with their bowlers went wicketless mostly.

It is actually dangerous for the Umpires which I’ve realised with the experiences earned. There were arising doubts in my mind whether the pitch was like that or the batsmen were solid in batting or the bowlers were not effective.

Gio Sports Club posted 258/4 in 50 overs. T. Ramu remained unbeaten with 103 followed by Chandiran with 40+ and Rajagopal an useful 29. It was a hard day for the Lakshmi Mills Bowlers.

Lakshmi Mills Colony CC started their innings boldly to chase down the target.

It was not known until the 4th over that this Left Arm Pacer would do the damage to Lakshmi Mills. Could you guess what would had he bowled first.

Yes! Wide Ball.

The Lakshmi Mills Colony seemed to gather the momentum to chase in the 3rd over but Saddam Hussain bowled a wicket maiden to stun Lakshmi Mills which forced the batsmen to hit hard and lose the temper. Lakshmi Mills Batsman Ramesh got out after hitting 2 fours.

Saddam Hussain continued to bowl his quota of 10 overs on the trot and bowled his best figures of bowling. 10 overs – 3 maidens – 23 runs -6 wickets

And At last Lakshmi Mills Colony CC were bowled for 94 in 28.2 overs

Spirit of the Game and Game’s Traditional value felt by the players.

Last but not least and as usual, I’ve umpired with Sabarinathan of Charms Cricket Club.

Then I’ve an another Idea too! Answer my question in the comments area!
