Today we are going to witness a TNCA Inter Districts’ Under 25 2nd round match played at Alstom Sports & Recreation Club ground at Pallavaram, Chennai played on 01.07.2014 and 02.07.2014.

I had reached Chennai by Train (Cheran) in the early morning. And reached the destination by local train. It was my first match for Kancheepuram DCA (venue)

Dharmapuri DCA won the toss and elected to bat first. It was a surprising decision however.

They were bowled out for 137 in 37.1 overs. A.C Pradeepan and G. Vijay Shankar picked 4 wickets each. Believe the first 8 wickets fallen were bowled out.

Both their openers scored decently. P. Arun scored 66 and A.C Pradeepan scored 43. At the end of Day 1 they were 195/2 with Vijay Shankar and Ashish Kumar on crease with 58 and 30 respectively.

They had started their Second day cautiously and no sign of hitting hard even though they had got 39 overs

Kanchipuram DCA scored 335/4 in 90 overs with a century from G. Vijay Shankar(116) and Half centuries from P.Arun (66) & R. Ashish Kumar (84). G. Inbanathan managed to pick 3 out of 4 Kanchi wickets fallen.

 

It was quite different and difficult for bowling to Dharmapuri DCA. Yes, they were in attacking mode and went good for them too.

However Dharmapuri DCA were bowled out for 200 in 39.4 overs with Useful contributions from Opener M. Ravikumar (52), G. Inbanathan (34), P. Kannan and S. Ramachandran. Kanchipuram captain R. Ashish Kumar bowled well in the second innings and picked 5 wickets well supported by Sachin Sharma picking 3 wickets.

Dharmapuri got 2 runs lead which forced the 4th innings of the match. Kanchipuram DCA. Kanchipuram scored 4/0 in 0.4 overs and won the match.
