MATCH REPORT: TNCA INTER DISTRICTS UNDER 19 FIRST ROUND
I am going to take you all today to TNCA (Tamil Nadu Cricket Association) Inter Districts Tournament for age group under 19 First round matches played at Thanjavur Center.
Thanjavur, Nilgris, Krishnagiri and Kanniyakumar DCA Under 19 teams were placed in that center. I had umpired the match between Thanjavur DCA and Nilgris DCA on that day.
The match was played at Kittu Memorial Ground, Thanjavur. The toss won by Thanjavur DCA and elected to bat first. The pitch was looking like new and was competitive for both the teams.

GROUND
Thanjavur DCA scored freely from the first over. On the other side lost wickets too. Ball was also changed in the 14th over. Leading from the front, AVR Rathnam, captain of Thanjavur top scored with 37 supported by useful contributions from Vishal (26) and Ajeeth Kumar (25). Thanjavur DCA scored 160 in 41 overs. For Nilgiris DCA, the 5 bowlers claimed 2 wickets each.

It was long time way back and happy to see a wicket keeper running all round the 30 yards circle. Yes it was Nilgiris DCA’s wicket keeper which you may notice from the images above.
Nilgiris DCA started their innings solidly and when the spinners came in struggled to score runs and was able to achieve the target in 41.2 overs only with M Ismail’s solid and unbeaten 65. Nilgiris scored 162/8 in 41.2 overs. Naveen Surya picked 3 wickets for Thanjavur.
