India is a country of beautiful landscapes. From the charm of the plains and plateaus to the overwhelming mountain ranges and forests to the mesmerizing silence of the deserts and the coolness of the rivers to the white sandy beaches, it is a land of breathtaking beauty. India is also home to one of the world’s most marvelous valleys formed by the gigantic mountains and the sparkling rivers that flow through them. The elegant grace of these valleys attracts people from far and wide who wish to experience both culture and beauty hidden and unexplored. Here are five of the most pristine valleys in India you’ll ever encounter.

Nubra Valley, Ladakh

Lying 150 km from the town of Leh, the scenic beauty of Nubra valley is formed by the Shyok and the Nubra rivers. While accessing the valley might prove to be a challenge, it is completely worth the effort as you’ll get to view the gorgeous white sand pervading the valley, the Bactrian camels passing by, the old monasteries and ruins of an old palace preserving the relics of a time long passed. A captivating view is offered in Ladakh which seems to draw visitors who are awaiting an experience of completely different and unknown culture.

Dzukou Valley, Nagaland

One of the most beautiful valleys in India, Dzukou valley is located at the border of Manipur and Nagaland. Formed by the Dzukou and Japfu rivers, this valley is blanketed with snow in the winters and is a spread of lush green trees and plants in the summers. Located behind the Japfu peak, the greenery in this valley is astounding and is mostly comprises of wild flowers and Bamboo grass. It’s a favorite spot for the nature enthusiasts and is also famously known as “The Valley of Flowers of the North East”.

Malana, Himachal Pradesh

The silent valley located in Malana is simply stupefying in its beauty. Malana, well known throughout the world for being an isolated village, is also a subject of curiosity. The villagers here follow strict rules and the outsiders are required to keep a distance. While a visit to this valley will require you to do a thorough research on the area and its people, the effort will prove worthwhile once you see it. Offering a view of the snow-capped mountains, surrounded by dense vegetation all around and small dwellings by the side of the mountains, Malana is a sight to behold.

Parvati Valley, Himachal Pradesh

A valley formed by the convergence of the Parvati river and the Beas river, it is located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. A scenic spot, there are many attractions one can catch in this valley. Also famous for the snow leopards, it is home to the “Pin Valley National Park”. The valley also holds a spiritual importance as the Rudra Nag waterfall (serpent shaped) is believed to be the place of meditation of lord Shiva.

Neora Valley, West Bengal

Located in the stunning terrain of Kalimpong in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal, Neora valley is an unblemished beauty and makes up a national park consisting of a bewildering number of plant and animal species. It’s known to be one of the richest biological zones in India with a wide variety of flora which includes Sal, Bamboo, Oak, Rhododendron, Orchids, Ferns etc., and numerous fauna including The Red Panda, Civet, Black Bear, Himalayan Flying Squirrel, Thar, Sloths, Golden Cat, Wild Boar, Leopard Cat, Goral, Serow, Barking Deer, Sambar etc. The park is also home to a great number of birds like White-Gorgeted Flycatcher, White-Browed Bush Robin, White-Tailed Robin, Yellow-Browed Tit, Rufous-Throated Partridge, Satyr Tragopan, Scaly-Breasted Wren-Babbler etc.

These are five of the most beautiful but rarely visited valleys of India which returns its visitors with an indelible memory of the place.
