CHURCHILL – THE STAR FOR DHARMAPURI
Today at Saranathan engineering college ground, in the matting wicket, Trichy, Dharmapuri dca achieved victory against DCA of Tirupur.
Winston Churchill’s unbeaten 56 gave edge to Dharmapuri in their second match in the zone. Dharmapuri scored 146 in 50 overs. M. Dhanasekar scored 26 for dharmapuri. T. Yogeshwaran took 3 for 27, K. Chandru took 2 for 25 and S. Raghunandhan took 2 for 15 for Tirupur. Dharmapuri restricted Tirupur to 116 in 35.5 overs. Hari V Shewag lead the chase for Tirupur with 54 went in vain as Winston Churchill again came back with 2 for 25, while V. Ramachandran took 2 for 34 and Deepa Raghavan took 2 for 24 finished the match in Dharmapuri’s favor. Dharmapuri dca won the match by 30 runs with bonus point.
ROBIN BASKAR & HARISH KUMAR STARS IN VELLORE’S WIN
In the turf wicket, TRICHY faced VELLORE DCA. Trichy scored 133 in 40.1 overs. N. Hari scored 36 and S. Sriram scored 33 for Trichy dca. For Vellore dca, B. Harish Kumar took 3 for 12, K. Madan Kumar took 2 for 32 and G. Logesh Kumar took 2 for 21. Vellore dca scored 134/4 in 45.4 overs. D. Robin Baskar lead the chase with 53 remained unbeaten while G. Wilson and S. Saravanan supported the team with useful contributions of 20 not out and 21 respectively. G. Sivi Javagar took 2 for 16 runs In Trichy’s bowling.
Vellore dca confirmed their birth in Second Round of the tournament and will face DCA of Tirupur in their last match tomorrow while Trichy would be playing against Dharmapuri. Trichy enjoys advantage over Dharmapuri dca.
